Rasa – Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Murtadha al-Kashmiri called for the believers to provide ‎assistance to the needy in the holy month of Ramadhan.‎

RNA – Speaking at the Imam Ali Mosque in Stockholm, Sweden, Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid ‎Murtadha al-Kashmiri emphasized the necessity of spiritual preparations to welcome the holy ‎month of Ramadhan.‎

The representative of Ayatollah Sayyid Ali al-Sistani in Europe referred to the sermon of the ‎Prophet Muhammad on the last Friday of Sha’ban on the reception of the month of ‎‎Ramadhan and said, “Ramadhan is undoubtedly the best month of the year and has many ‎characteristics and benefits. Therefore, it is important to think a lot about how you can ‎prepare yourself and the Muslim community to welcome Ramadhan.” ‎

Referring this sermon from the Prophet Muhammad who said, “It [Ramadhan] is the month ‎which invites you to be the guests of God and invites you to be one of those near to Him,” ‎he stated, “Muslims must cleanse their souls before the holy month of Ramadhan and the ‎rights must be given to God Almighty and the people. The doors of the repentance and the ‎mercy of God are open to the servants this month.”‎
‎ ‎
Hujjat al-Islam al-Kashmiri ‎stated, “Muslims must prepare themselves by rejecting the ‎oppression and granting the rights of others because the prayer of the oppressors and ‎someone has violated the rights of others will not be answered. The prayer of the ‎oppressed person will be answered and God hears the voice of the oppressed.”‎
‎ ‎
He emphasized the necessity of reforming the relations between believers and continued, ‎‎“The supplication of the people whose hearts are full of grudge and spite will also not be ‎answered. The Prophet of God said, ‘Do not harbour grudge against one another, nor ‎jealousy, nor enmity and do not show your backs to one another and become as fellow ‎brothers and slaves of God’ and ‘Verily, jealousy consumes all goodness just as the fire ‎consumes firewood.’”‎
‎ ‎
Hujjat al-Islam al-Kashmiri ‎said that meeting with the needy families and examining them in ‎the early days of the holy month of Ramadhan is necessary and said, “There are families ‎who are unable to clothe themselves and we who have a good financial condition must ‎assist the needy.”‎

Ramadhan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and is observed by Muslims worldwide ‎as a month of fasting to commemorate the first revelation of the Quran to the Prophet ‎Muhammad.‎

During Ramadhan, Muslims fast as an effective way of practicing self-discipline. They are ‎also expected to strengthen their character through self-restraint, charitable-giving and ‎introspection.‎
