The member of the Expediency Discernment Council said, “Though many years have passed, we have no one like him (Ayatollah Khamenei). If, God forbid, something happens to him, we have no refuge except him.” RNA – In a meeting with officials, teachers and elites of the Islamic Seminary of Qom, Ayatollah Ebrahim Amini said, “The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution [Ayatollah Khamenei] has expressed his expectations and they must be realised. He is the best leader. Even though many years have passed, we have no one else like him as a leader. If, God forbid, something happens to him, we have no refuge except him.”
The member of the Expediency Discernment Council added, “Misgivings about Ayatollah Khamenei have been expressed before and what we have seen from the beginning until now is that Ayatollah Khamenei is the same as he was at the beginning of his rule.”
Ayatollah Amini said, “Now, we’re demanding from him and we were also demanding from him before. I have always prayed for him. I even pray for him in my salat al-layl (night prayers). We must pray that God will give him a long life.”
In conclusion, His Eminence said, “The issue of waiting for the relief and reappearance of Imam al-Mahdi is an issue that we must provide the groundwork because the reappearance of the Imam isn’t immediate. After the victory of the Islamic Revolution, we expected the Islamic Seminaries and the people to provide this same groundwork. Now, we have the same expectations again. There is sedition that must not be ignored and listened to.”
