Qom Friday Prayer Leader:‎
Ayatollah Sa’idi said, “The Guardian Council must be determined to prevent the ‎penetration of those who have moral and political problems and provide the means to ‎prevent the influence and infiltration of the enemies.”‎

RNA – In his Friday prayer sermon delivered to a large and fervent crowd of believers ‎‎‎at ‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎Qom’s Qods Prayer Hall, Ayatollah Sayyed Mohammad Sa’idi referred to the sedition ‎over the increased price of gasoline in Iran and said, “In the recent sedition, one of the ‎cities where the enemies conspiracy didn’t have an effect was Qom. The people of Qom ‎shine over history and must act and know that they are subject to the salutations of ‎the Infallible Imams to the people of Qom.”‎

The custodian of the Holy Shrine of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah referred to Student Day ‎and noted, “This day is reminiscent of the sacred shouting and anger of the students ‎against the tyrannical and criminal United States. On December 7, 1953, the Shah’s ‎police executed three students [of the University of Tehran] to welcome their masters ‎‎[resumption of Iran’s relations with the UK and US President Richard Nixon’s visit to ‎Iran]. From this date, Iranian students have honoured December 7th and protest against ‎the oppression of the arrogant powers by shouting ‘Down with America.’”‎
‎ ‎
He pointed to the forthcoming February 21, 2020 legislative election and said, “The ‎Islamic Consultative Assembly must, in the remaining period, act in accordance with the ‎general electoral policy as expressed by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution ‎‎[Ayatollah Khamenei] in order to act in a comprehensive manner that provides the ‎means to prevent financial, moral and political corruption and the influence of the ‎enemies.” ‎

Ayatollah Sa’idi said that the proper basis for the formation of a revolutionary and ‎professional Islamic Consultative Assembly which is motivated to fight against ‎corruption and is in line with the demands of the Iranian people must be provided and ‎said, “The Guardian Council is urged to prohibit the infiltration of economically- and ‎politically-motivated individuals, as well as those with ethical problems and those who ‎are laying the grounds for the infiltration of the enemies, in a firm manner which is in ‎accordance with the law.”‎

The representative of the Supreme Leader in ‎Qom added that the people are expecting ‎the Guardian Council to disqualify those who have recently acted and have taken ‎positions which benefit the arrogant powers of the world, the enemies of the Islamic ‎Revolution and those who are in favour of the disgraced seditionists. ‎

He stressed, “Such individuals must not be allowed to take a position where people like ‎the martyr Ayatollah Sayyed Hasan Modarres performed his divine duty. Individuals ‎who create grief for the ummah and nation instead of creating grief for the enemies ‎and the seditionists, must not be found in the Islamic Consultative Assembly.”‎
‎ ‎
Ayatollah Sa’idi continued, “Those who are willing to sign shameful treaties, pacts, bills ‎and documents which benefit of the enemies and are against the people must not enter ‎the Islamic Consultative Assembly. The Guardian Council has demonstrated that it ‎doesn’t engage in courtesies with anyone in regard to the law and divine duty and that ‎the people have always supported and will always support the deliberate, decisive, and ‎revolutionary actions of the Guardian Council to safeguard governmental institutions.”‎
‎ ‎
Ayatollah Sa’idi said that the Guardian Council is satisfied with the minimum ‎qualifications and said, “The most qualified individuals are academically-, ethically-, ‎insightfully-, politically- and service-minded and follow the discourse of wilayah ‎‎(guardianship) with the people themselves. Just as the electees have a responsibility, ‎the voters must have religious authority and therefore, the voters must be discerning ‎and refer to trustworthy individuals because their choice will affect the fate of the ‎country.”‎

His Eminence added, “The election officials must know that voting is the right of the ‎people and for this reason, the executive and supervisory bodies must be entrusted ‎with the right of the people.”‎
